Specific Job Responsibilities of Placement:
Volunteers will be involved in planning and executing on-campus and off-campus activities with Methodist Children’s Home. The activities may include community service projects, day trips, and other activities that foster hope and healing through meaningful interactions. Volunteers will provide a meal for the youth and will assist in breakfast and lunch during the week of the camp and will assist in one-on-one tutoring of campers.

As a volunteer for the Project R.E.S.I.L.I.E.N.C.Y. project, you must meet the following requirements to complete your project placement and receive project credit for the year. If you have questions or cannot meet the requirements described, please contact the Placement Chair at placement@jljackson.org for further direction.

Note: The following list is an outline of the project requirements. As needs arise, this list may be modified or expanded upon to properly complete the project for the Community Partner.

1. Attend project orientation.*
2. Attend cultural competency training.*
3. Complete your online project evaluation and online placement evaluation upon project conclusion.*
4. Participate in and attend planning meetings within your specified project area as determined by the Chair (dates TBA).
5. Organize and order supplies for your project area or activity before sessions.
6. Participate in and attend the monthly sessions.

Orientation or Training Details:

• As part of Methodist Children’s Homes policy, background checks are required on all volunteers. 
• Volunteers are required to complete the Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry Application, sign a liability waiver, and confirm that she understands and agrees to adhere to the confidentiality statement and code of conduct. 

Important Information:

Project R.E.S.I.L.I.E.N.C.Y. will take place in several facilities across the Methodist Children’s Homes campus, local museums, movie theaters, etc. This project is an evening-based, school-year project that will meet twice a month.
